Do home theater projectors use regular dvds?

By pfhometheater | December 12, 2009

My friend just had a home theater installed in her home. I was thinking I’d get a movie for her, but do they just take regular dvds, or do they require something special?

Yeah. The inputs are basically the same. Chances are that if she had a DVD player before, then she should be able to use it now. You should be safe.

As long as she has a dvd, blu-ray, hd dvd player you can use standard dvds

It should definitely play normal DVDs (with a separate DVD player plugged into it, which I’m sure they already have for their home theater). Most are also capable of playing HD-DVDs or Blu-Ray also.

i am a bit confuse about your question a home theater projector is only a video display if he/she have a dvd player it can play a regular dvd movie if have a blu-ray player it can play regular and blu-ray movies if have a vcr player it can play vhs movies…

it all depends what player it have, the projector can display everything you connect to it so the player its what play the dvd the projector display it .
