Can I replace a home theater projector lamp myself or do I need to take it somewhere?
By pfhometheater | January 10, 2010
My projector is no longer under warranty. It is an Epson Powerlite 73c and the lamp went out on it. I haven’t bought a replacement lamp yet and need to know if it is as easy as opening up the projector and swapping it out or am I going to need to take it somewhere for them to do it? Also, where can I take it for repairs? Huntsville, Alabama

If you buy a replacement bulb you should be able to swamp it out with little effort. The bulb will be mounted in a plastic housing. Do not remove it from the housing, just replace the whole thing. When you swamp out the new one, make sure you don’t touch the actual bulb, as that could ruin it, use the plastic mounting to put it in. Hope that helps.
